The Q&A Archives: Vinca Is In Trouble

Question: My Vinca next to my house is thin and doesn't look healthy but my vinca by my lamp post looks very health, thick and full of vinca leaves. What type of fertilizer should I use to improve the patch of vinca.

Answer: Vinca is not usually very demanding in terms of fertility, so you might try an all purpose granular fertilizer such as 10-10-10 applied according to the label instructions. However, you might also investigate and see if anything else has happened to the vinca, such as an overflowing rain gutter, run-off from a salted sidewalk, or some other form of mechanical damage has occurred that would cause it to look poor.
