We live in zone 5 and have already had a killer frost. Can I still plant mums or do they need to be wintered over in the house? |
The temperature is too cool for your mums to develop a good root system this fall, so bringing them inside would be the best solution. Plant them outside in the spring, and if they are hardy mums, they can overwinter next year outdoors. Mulch them well in the fall with pine boughs. |
