The Q&A Archives: Pruning Back My Sage Plant

Question: The snow is finally gone and my sage is green but long, do I cut it back at all like my oregano or do I leave it alone?

Answer: In my experience it is better to wait until late spring before trimming it back; do not cut back so far that you are into the oldest "woodiest" stems.
