I want to use buckwheat as a green manure and weed smother crop in my vegetable garden this year to enhance the soil and reduce the amount of weeds. where can I buy the seed, either online or locally(Long Island,NY)?

Buckwheat seed for covercrop use is available from Johbnny's Selected Seeds, 1 Foss hill Road, Albion ME 04910 or http://www.johnnyseeds.com/ They also offer a food grade seed for sprouting. Unfortunately, I have no way to search your local sources. You might try calling some local nurseries or garden centers and asking if they have it.
