| Fresh manure is considered too hot for use in the garden, however if he mixed a small amount into the soil below the plant it may be okay. If it is in direct contact with most of the roots, you may want to replant. Also, it is not considered a good idea to use fresh manure around vegetables that could be eaten raw. The rule of thumb is to compost it thoroughly or age it for a year. After that, it is a great soil amendment. |
