On a home basis however, it usually works well to use a very dilute solution of general purpose complete water soluble fertilizer according to the label instructions. Some gardeners will also look for a fertilizer supplying micronutrients, or may use a compost tea to supplement the basic fertilization. Since the plants are only there for a short while and it is not necessary to have them "blooming in the packs" in order to sell them, you have some leeway in your practices.
