They are predicting 30 degrees for a low tomorrow night. I planted my iris 2 years ago, only getting 2 blooms last year. This year I have about at least 20 stems with buds, & don't know if I should (somehow) try to cover them. If so, how? |
Although iris are quite cold tolerant and seem to withstand the ups and downs of spring weather pretty well, if you are worried you could cover them with a spun woven row cover or frost blanket, or possibly with an ordinary sheet or old shower curtain or something similar. Be sure to remove it in the morning. |
