My limited experience with fruit trees has me believing I cannot grow fruit bearing apple trees because of the climate here. I recently learned that I can, indeed grow apples. What type of tree will be productive with sweet apples for this region?

Apples have a winter chill requirement to produce the best fruit and some of the newer cultivars have a very low chill requirement. Among those are 'Winter Banana' and 'Winter Pearmain'. You might also try 'Ein Shemer'. Good luck with your apples!
