When is the right time to prune a Nadine plant, It turned brown during the winter from the middle half to the top. I'm in zone 7 |
Nandinas tend to look their worst in mid spring. The plant will grow additional new leaves this year and look fine in no time. If you want to help keep the plant bushier at the base you could trim some of the taller stems to mid height, some to a shorter height, and leave the rest alone. This will encourage some branching lower on the plant and help keep it looking more full. Finally, if there is any winter dieback (twigs with no green inside) these may also be removed. |
