I would like to plant sweet corn on my roof top garden. What special precautions should I take? (i.e. How deep and wide should the boxes be? How many rows are needed for fertilization? etc.)

Corn is very difficult to grow in containers. You might have luck using a dwarf variety and growing it in a half barrel, then hand pollinating. You will have to be very diligent about watering and fertilizing it in order to produce ears. Keep in mind too that most plants only produce or possibly two ears apiece.
