I live in Rochester, Minnesota and am unsure of my exact zone. I was wondering if there is
a butterfly bush that is a perennial in my area. I would love to plant some in my yard.

Unfortunately, butterfly bushes would not be likely to survive your winters. If you are willing to replant each year, you could consider growing them as annuals. They grow quickly and bloom on the current year's wood so even a young plant can make a nice display.
