I live in Virginia and we have been having soom unseasonably warm weather and then this week we are having some extremely cold weather. My tulips have bloomed beautifly. I'm concerned that the cold may kill them. How much cold can they withstand?

Tulips are very resiliant plants and seem to bloom through thick and thin. They certainly withstand frosts. The hot weather accelerates their growth and may cause the blooms to fade faster than ordinarily; the cooler weather helps them last longer.
