The Q&A Archives: Indoor Seed Planting

Question: when is the best time to plant various (annual) seeds indoors?

Answer: This depends on what you are trying to grow. Some such as geraniums need to be started about four months before your average last frost date, while others need only about six weeks indoors. The seed packet should give you an indication, typical timing is about eight weeks.
