Do you have suggestions for plants to put in window boxes during the fall/winter months? |
If you said you lived in Palos Verdes, Palm Beach, Puerto Rico or some other such warm place, I guess I could suggest some pretty flowers to put in your window box for the winter. However, since you re from Connecticut... I think you would be best off decorating it, rather than planting it! My recommendation would be to use evergreen boughs of varing textures and tones. Be sure to get some that have bright berries which will look very pretty. Some different types of pine(seed) cones will add to the interest. You might want to do this soon, before the soil in the box freezes. If the soil is frozen, you won't be able to stick the branches into it. This should provide an attractive look to your window boxes from inside as well as outside. |
