Last fall we had a new lawn blown in. We forgot to fertilize before winter. I fertilzed the lawn 4 days ago with 16-16-16 fertilizer. The lawn looks sparse/bare in some parts and where there is grass it looks delicate. Should I do anything else right now? Where it is bare should I put more seed? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Fertilizing in early spring will help your lawn thicken up. You can overseed to speed things up even more. Keep your lawn on a regular feeding/watering/mowing schedule and it should grow lush and thick. Fertilize with a 3-1-2 ratio of N-P-K in April, June, September and late November. Water deeply when you water, and mow when grass is 2 - 2 1/2 inches tall.
