| In the front garden we are planting about 12 Gardenia August (6 tall x 5 ) and we're looking for 2-3 feet tall perennials and annuals to plant in front of Gardenias. Also bulbs for border grass. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciatedon what to plant. |
| There are so many choices it's hard to come up with a concise list. (Your local library or bookstore might carry some regional gardening books that would have photos and detailed descriptions. Or chat with a neighbor about their favorite plants.) Perennials to consider are: daylily, aster, coreopsis, foxglove, larkspur, coneflowers, and poppies. Annuals include begonias, petunias, cornflowers, nasturtiums, and calendula. Bulbs include Camassia, Crinum, and Allium spp. Periwinkle (vinca minor) makes a nice ground cover. |
