I am looking for a small house plant. It has pale green leave with pink in the leaves and lining the "veins". I had one but it died and I would like to replace it but I do not know what it is called. It looks like one of "Praying Hands Plants" (I doubt that is what they are called but they close up at night). If you know what it is please let me know the plant was a mothers day gift from my 9 year old last year and I have yet to replace it and it was very pretty.
Thank you
Gina

The plant you describe is commonly called prayer plant, or herringbone plant, depending upon leaf coloration. The botanical name is Maranta leuconeura tricolor. It's commonly grown and should be readily available in your area.
