I just bought my first hyacinth and I'm not sure if I should cut the plant once it has stopped blooming. What is the basic care I need to know to keep it blooming year after year?

The flower stem can be removed once the flower has faded. The foliage should be encouraged to grow for as long as possible. This is how the bulbs replenishes itself so it can grow and bloom next year. Once the foliage has faded and dried naturally, it can also be removed.
