The Q&A Archives: Deadheading Delphiniums

Question: Where do I deadhead the spent flowers? Do I prune lower on the plant stem nearer the base or do I cut just below the spent flower?

Answer: Cut the stem down to the foliage level and new lateral stems will form. Sometimes these secondary stems produce flowers.
