The Q&A Archives: Is English Laurel Deer Resistant?

Question: Can you tell me if English Laurel would be an ok shrub for hillside planting to use as a screen in front of a hot tub and is it Deer Resistant?

Thank you

Answer: English laurel would be a great plant for the purpose you describe. Deer are not usually attracted to it, but that doesn't mean they won't occasionally nibble on it just to see if it's tasty. I've never had a problem with deer devouring my laurel, but I've noticed a few leaves missing now and again.
