The potted bulbs should be encouraged to grow their foliage for as long as possible since this is how the bulb rebuilds its strength to bloom next year. If they are very tender they will need to be gradually acclimated to the out of doors and then planted. If they have already been outdoors they can be planted immediately at the same depth or slightly deeper than they are growing in the pot. If the foliage has already dried up, you can dry and hold the bulbs in a dry airy location and plant them in the fall.
