The Q&A Archives: Should I Deadhead My Iris?

Question: Should I deadhead my Iris?

Answer: Deadheading is usually regularly done on annuals to prolong their bloom period. Once the bloom is dead on a bulb, you can cut the stalk back, but let the foliage dry and die back on its own, as it is storing nutrients to the bulb for next season.
