How long do seeds last when you buy them in packets from the
store? Can I use these seeds next year?

If properly stored, seeds can remain viable for several years. Place extra seeds in an airtight container and store in a cool, dark area. I put mine in a clean jar, screw the lid down tightly, and place the jar on the floor of a seldom-used closet. They germinate just fine 3-4 years later!
