One of our Holly Bushes (of three) has yellowing leaves and seems to be losing them. What could this be?

Since only one of the three is showing yellowing, it is possible that there is mechanical damage of some kind or there is some other physical cause. Check for root damage such as vole feeding, trunk or stem damage as by weedwhacker or a basketball landing in it, a dog lifting its leg regularly, snow melter salts runoff from a walkway, or similar unusual causes. Also check closely for signs of pest or fungal infection, if you see anything unusual you might want to check with your county extension for a specific identification and suggested controls.
