If I buy seeds right now how long can they be stored and how should I store them? |
Seed viability over time depends on the specific seed (some such as corn does not last more than a year or so, tomato seeds can last five years or more) and how it is handled and stored. At home, the best place to keep it is in a sealed container in the refrigerator where the temperature is constant and the air is fairly dry. The germination rate will decrease somewhat each year until it is poor enough to warrant buying fresh seed again. |
