Is there any ornamental grasses that will do well in shady areas?

Most ornamental grasses prefer a sunny area, just as lawn grasses do. In shade, they may grow but will be wispy and thin and may not bloom. For the grassy texture, you might try Hakonechloa (hardy to zone 6) and for partial shade and a moist soil you might try Carex (to zone 3).
