When is the best time to dig up and separate tulip bulbs? I do not dig up the bulbs to store them for replanting in the fall, so I would like to know when it is the best time to separate them and replant them immediately.

Thank you.

It's best to wait until the foliage dies down to the ground before digging and replanting tulip bulbs. The leaves provide energy for next spring's flowers. You don't want to dig too early in the season and disrupt the process. After the leaves have dried up cut them off at soil level, then dig and replant your tulip bulbs.
