I received some poppy seeds from my son in Calfornia and am interested in planting them in my yard in Utah. Could you please tell me how deep I should plant these, how much water they will need and how much sun they should receive each day.

Poppy seeds are tiny so they can be scattered and then just very lightly covered. Keep moist until they germinate. After they start growing they need a fairly consistent supply of water. They take full sun, although they will also benefit from protection from hot afternoon sun. They self-sow readily if you let the flowers dry and go to seed.
