The Q&A Archives: Earthmate Soil Amendment

Question: Is the soil amendment Earthmate okay to use in veggies gardens where the veggies will be eaten. If not what other soil amenedments are good. Thanks

Answer: Unfortunately I am not familiar with a product by that name. If it is a packaged product, the label should indicate where it may be used, if it is sold in bulk then your county extension should be able to advise you. Some amendments typically suggested for vegetable gardens would be compost, leaf mold, aged manure (at least a year old), peat moss, and similar natural organic materials.
