We just recently bought an old house that has strawberries in the backyard that have yellow blooms. Can you tell me what kind they are and if I should try saving them.

In most cases the smaller strawberry plants that grow wild are the weedy "barren" strawberries and are not good to eat. You might keep an eye on a few just to make sure, but in most cases these would be considered a weed that has outcompeted the lawn.
