I planted some Irises about two weeks ago, and the leaves started turning brown a week after I planted them. They have a mild fertilizer, and enough sun. What is causing this, and does this mean the plants are dying?

Sometimes new iris fans will brown after planting because they are suffering sunburn after having been stored. Sometimes they will brown because the rhizomes are planted too deeply. Make sure the tops of the rhizomes are visible, and if there are signs of new foliage starting to grow then they should be ok. Remove the browned portions gently and throw them away.
