The Q&A Archives: Hyperacum - Aaron's Beard Groundcover

Question: We have hyperacum planted and while it seems to be doing okay, some of the growth is turning brown and dry. What do I do to produce healthy/healthy looking plants?

Answer: Hypericum, or St. John's Wort, is sometimes attacked by rust, a fungal disease. You can cut away the unhealthy portions to keep spores from spreading and also to open the plants up to better air circulation. I grow St. John's Wort as a groundcover and every year or so cut it back with a weed whacker to encourage healthy new stems and flowers.
