| We planted portulacas started by seed along the sidewalk entrance. The plants are large and producing many flowers only one problem. The blooms fade in color and close by mid-afternoon. We have grown them previously in a different part of the country and the blooms stayed opened til evening time. What could be causing the blooms not to remain open? |
| This is typical of some varieties of portulaca, particualrly older varieties. Certain varieties have been specially developed to stay open all day. |
