I would like to plant some more lilies in my flower bed. I just planted Hybrid Lilies (no other identification) which are blooming now. What other species or types can I plant to have blooms throughout the summer. I am interested in lilium not daylilies. If I plant bulbs will I see flowers this year?

Thank you,
Linda

You may see blossoms of the later-blooming varieties if you plant soon. Here's the sequence of bloom for various hybrid lilies as listed in the book Bulbs: Four Seasons of Beautiful Blooms, by Lewis & Nancy Hill:
Asiatic: mid-June to mid-July
Martagon: mid-June
Madonna: late June
American: end of June/early July
Canadian: July
Regal: July
Trumpet & Aurelian: July-August (long season)
Henry: early August
Oriental: August
Tiger: August

Enjoy!
