The Q&A Archives: Soaked Beans

Question: i recently soaked my green and wax beans to plant them and all of a sudden it began to rain and rain.........i need to know can i just plant them in a day or 2 even after they have been soaked in water or do i need to discard them and purchase new packets and start over?

Answer: If they are by any chance still alive and sprouting, plant them immediately. Seeds should be planted immediately after soaking for a few hours or overnight. If they become overly fermented, or if they are allowed to dry out after the soaking, they will not grow. Next time, plant them in the rain if need be. They are already wet!
