I wonder if the above plant is invasive, if so how invasive? Should I contain in in a pot or let it go? Thanks.

Fallopia japonica 'Variegata' has a clumping habit, growing about 4' tall with an equal spread at maturity. Because it clumps rather than spreads, it's not considered invasive.
