| Cool white fluorescent tubes are fine for starting seeds indoors. The highest possible light intensity is necessary for successful growth of seedlings. You may want to use 3 or 4 25-watt bulbs instead of 2 40-watt bulbs. Keep light on for 14-16 hours each day. Begin 2 inches above seedling trays and then raise the light source 4"-6" above seedlings when they've developed their first set of true leaves. |
