Question: How many types of alberta spruce are there? Picea glauca conica and any others? I have a client that thinks he has two varieties. I think he is wrong thanks for your time.

Answer: According to Michael Dirr's "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants" there is P. glauca "Conica" which is often called Dwarf Alberta Spruce and Dwarf White Spruce. Perhaps your client is thinking of "Fat Albert" which is a type of P.pungens or Colorado spruce?
