A week ago we had a very bad hail storm, It got my balloon flowers pretty bad. Look more like sticks with just a few leave. Not blooming they do not look too good. Been tempted to cut them off, start over, or would they. Help! |
As long as the root system is still viable, and it probably is, since hail wouldn't affect that, they should reprout greenery if you cut them back. Balloon flowers usually have a long flowering period for a perennial, up to two months, so they could still send up another flower stalk. As long as they look bad anyway, it's worth a try! Good luck! |
