I saw a plant in someone's yard that I am not familiar with. The only name the owner knows it by is an Aluminum Plant. I cannot find it listed in any of my sources. It is low growing and likes shade. It had a varigated leaf and a yellow bloom. The more sun it gets, the more silver the leaves turn. Can you tell me anything about this plant? It probably has another name. Thank you.

There is a houseplant called Aluminum Plant that would meet that description, the Latin name is Pilea. It could certainly be grown as a summer season annual but would not be hardy outdoors over the winter. I can not think of another hardy perennial (or a woody plant) that would meet that description.
