I recently moved south and I have two potted sago palms. What type of food do sago palms prefer and how often should potted cycads be fed?

Use a balanced fertilizer such as 10-10-10 for the palms. Potted plants need fairly regular fertilizing during their growing season, about once per month, as they quickly use up the nutrients in the soil and can't expand their root system to seek more. It's also a good idea to leach salt build-up once a month if you use synthetic fertilizers as they are high in salts. Let water run out the pot for several minutes to leach away salts. If you use organic fertlizers this is less of a concern.
