| Sedum Autumn Joy is a very sturdy plant and can be transplanted any time the soil can be worked. Water the plant well the day before you dig it, then move and replant immediately at the same depth as it grew before. Take as many roots as possible. Then water well and keep moist until it reestablishes. If you break off some stems while moving the plant, simply stick them in the soil and keep moist -- they will root and form new plants. You can also divide the sedums at almost any time, a good idea if they have not been divided for several years. (Of course, early spring would be the ideal time to move or divide the sedums.) |
