| Foxgloves are usually considered a biennial. The first year the plants grow only a rosette of foliage on the ground. The second year, they bloom and set seed and then usually die. If you allow the seed to ripen on the plant, the seeds will self-sow and new seedlings will emerge the following spring, creating a seemingly perennial patch. It does best in a rich soil that is evenly moist (but not soggy) and in morning sun, filtered sun, or if the soil is moist enough, full sun. |
