The Q&A Archives: Planting Of Lebelia 'ruby Slippers'

Question: I received my Ruby Slippers and am about to plant them and the tag in with the plants says to plant the flowers in full sun/ part shade. On your online directions it says to plant them in the shade. I need to know which area I should be planting them.

Thank You

Answer: In its native habitat, lobelia often grows in low lying meadows where there is very wet soil and full sun. In the drier soil of a flower bed, and in a hot summer climate, they may appreciate afternoon shade. You may want to experiment a bit and see where they do best for you.
