Answer: I'm sorry to say your eucalyptus probably died back in the cold winter. The tree is rated hardy to zone 8, and Salisbury is in zone 7. The fact that it survived the first winter can probably be attributed to a microclimate in which you planted it that kept it just warm enough during the winter. You can expect it to continue a sporadic pattern of growth -- sometimes surviving the winter, sometimes dying to the ground and sprouting from the roots -- depending on the severity of winter and it's degree of health as winter sets in.
