I have a "blue-green yucca that is going to bloom for the first time this year. How do I care for the bloom? After it is finished do I cut it off? Will there be seeds?

Once the flowers fade, seeds may form in their place. You may trim away the blooming stem as soon as the flowers fade if you wish, or you may wait until after the seeds form and ripen. You'll know they are ripe when the seeds rattle when you shake the stalk. After blooming, the central portion of the plant will usually die out. This makes room then for the surrounding pups (small plants at the outer edge) to fill in and perpetuate the clump.
