very large tree with huge 1 point leaves measuring about 5" across, 7" long on long single stems coming off of branches with large cluster of flower on ends (flowers are white with maroon veins about size of a open snapdragon. very pretty can you help identify this?? |
I'm guessing it's Catalpa. If so, the flowers are fragrant and will give way to long, bean-pod shaped green seed pods which eventually turn brown and woody. It's sometimes called 'popcorn' tree or 'vanilla' tree because of the clusters of flowers or the hanging seed pods. |
