I have heard there are some new constant blooming day lillies. What can you tell me about these new varieties? Are they as good as the Stella d'Oro? Do they bloom as much and as often? What are the colors and how can I buy them?

Daylily hybridizers are striving to create more repeat blooming daylilies. In general, they will repeat best if given optimum growing conditions including high fertility, ample watering and lots of sunshine. Stella d'Oro is probably the most famous as well as one of the most frequent rebloomers but more are introduced every year. Many rebloom only once or possibly twice. There is a huge variety of colors, flower size and shape among the rebloomers. Burpee offers several in this year's catalog, daylily specialists such as Oakes http://www.oakesdaylilies.com/...

or Gilbert H. Wild

will offer a broader selection. Enjoy!
