Monkey Puzzle trees (Araucaria) are unusual-looking conifers with a symmetrical branching habit and dark green, pointed leaves. They thrive in full sunshine, in average soil, with regular water during the summer growing season. Monkey Puzzle trees are slow growing but can eventually reach 70'-90' with a 30' spread. Mature trees produce spiny 10-15 pound cones which often fall with a crashing thud - be careful not to sit under the tree!
