What is the best way to plan on winterizing a musella lasiocarpa which is planted outdoors & will remain there in Zone 6 (Philadelpia PA area - SE PA)

The below-ground parts of M. lasiocarpa are hardy to zone 6 if mulched heavily. If you want to protect the aboveground parts from frost as well, you can build a cozy nest for it as winter approaches. Create a cage of chicken wire around the plant that reaches about a foot above the crown. Use dry straw or hay to fill it up and cover the whole plant. Good luck!
